Synaesthetes, human calculators, people with brains that works differently, people with bodies that works differently. They are very more different than the usual difference each human being share. Some people envy them, some consider them as freaks of nature.
Hindi ko alam kung anong ita-type ko. I was reminded kasi of the fact yesterday na most of these ‘more different’ people are being used as guinea pigs, even the media takes advantage of them. The negative effects of their gifts on their lives far outweighs their advantages.
What if claimed that I can see and taste sounds as well? Mapapagkamalan kaya akong baliw? O di kaya LSD user? O baka ipalabas rin ako sa T.V. dahil isa akong synaesthete tapos ipadala sa kung saang research institute para obserbahan. What if my eyes are ‘more different’? Na kaya kong tumingin directly sa sunlight for hours at hindi ako nabubulag. Paano kung may nakikita akong parang mga invisible spots sa point of view ko? What if I can see heat when I apply pressure to my eyes? Parang spherical na donut ang labas, tapos parang rainbow siya, marami. What if I can totally shut light sa vision ko at will? What if my wounds heal faster than the usual? Na sobrang sensitive ko sa pain pero natotolerate ko siya (at instantly nawawala). Nagiging overly sensitive lang ba ako dahil gusto ko maging ’special’ at gusto kong mas maiba? Identity crisis ba ito?
Hindi ko alam. May sakit ako sa utak, kaya ko pang aminin yun.
